Chesnut Chai
Chai is a spicy and aromatic tea blend, the name being derived from the original word for tea: “cha”. Blend this tea with warmed milk and sweeten with your choice of honey or sugar – makes the perfect dessert beverage or holiday treat! While you sip, try reading Mary Chesnut’s Civil War. South Carolina native Mary Boykin Chesnut (1823-1886) kept a diary that ofers some of the best insight to life during the Civil War that exists to this day. Such an important South Carolinian deserves to have such a great tea named for her!

Patriot Tea
South Carolina has a long and rich history of patriotism. This tea was designed as homage to all the individuals from South Carolina that have fought in the name of freedom, past and present. The tide of the Revolutionary War changed in our favor in South Carolina, where more battles and skirmishes were fought than any other state! Even today, the patriotic spirit is evident in South Carolina’s fighting men and women who represent a large segment of the military. This Indian black tea is blended with South African Honeybush and infused with the warm aromas of macadamia nut and rum; then it is sprinkled with almonds and safflowers for a strong, yet pleasant finish.

Crescent Tea
Crescent Tea is an inspired blend of earthy and floral osmanthus green pearl tea, subtle white tea, marigold and chrysanthemum blossoms, and sprinkled with lavender buds and bits of sweet fragrant peaches. The crescent moon stands bold and proud on the South Carolina state flag as a reminder of our Revolutionary past. This tea is meant to reflect this meaningful, bright-white symbol that shines against the crisp blue background of our flag just the way the moon really reflects off the water on a warm South Carolina evening. This light and flowery tea is perfect for bridal showers or quiet evenings in.

Scarborough Grey
This is a classic Earl Grey Tea with an artistic touch. Like an Earl Grey, this tea is infused with bergamot oil, giving it a decidedly masculine identity since bergamot oil is a common fragrance in men’s cologne. Blue mallow blossoms and vanilla bean are then added to mellow the flavor and make it a taste that we feel is a fitting combination of aesthetic beauty and unique sophistication to properly symbolize our state’s beloved portraitist, William Harrison Scarborough (1812-1871).

This tea is named in honor of SC Constitutional signers Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, Charles Pinckney, Pierce Butler and John Rutledge; and Declaration of Independence signers from SC: Arthur Middleton, Thomas Lynch Jr., and Edward Rutledge – men willing to risk their lives by signing our way to the greatest republic the world has ever known!

Planter’s Brew
Plantations of South Carolina’s past produced a bounty of products traded all over the world. It was the very first state to grow both tea and indigo, and there is still a working tea plantation today. Rice was long a key to the agricultural base of the state, and the rice it exported was considered the best in the world! In fact, for many years long grain rice was called “Carolina Gold”. It is the worldwide trade to and from our state that inspired Planter’s Brew. We chose a sturdy black tea to emphasize the colonial period, accented it with tropical notes of French plum, mango and toasted coconut, and splashed it with the bright red color of safflowers and tart currants.

Palmetto Blend
The concept behind Palmetto Blend is a mixture of what South Carolina was and is. Today, the views across the state are never without the palmetto tree. Whether you are. at the beach or in the upstate, the people of South Carolina love their most recognized state symbol. But the history of why we treasure this tree is the most interesting part! Fort Sullivan was fortified with the soft wood of the palmetto, which absorbed and wouldn’t fall to British cannon fire during the Battle of Sullivan’s Island in 1776. Palmetto Blend captures the sunny and youthful spirit of the state with a mixture of fruit and flowers; while remaining a traditional tea with a combination of red tea, green tea and rose hips.

Fortune’s Brew
Pompey Fortune was an extraordinary man who served first as a personal valet to Revolutionary War hero Captain John Buchanan, then later to General Marquis de Lafayette. For his patriotic service, he was respected, befriended, and gifted a plot of land in Winnsboro – today’s Fortune Springs Park. Stay cool the South Carolina way – with fine Indian estate black tea leaves, hibiscus (a body – cooling secret since ancient times), and the subtle colonial flavor of orange and clove.
